Data protection provisions

At SAMAG Group data protection is a very high priority, we want to ensure that the privacy of users of our online proposal is protected. For this reason we have prepared the following data protection provisions to explain how we collect access data and collect and use personal data. These provisions only pertain to users of our online proposal, and do not pertain to applicants for a position at SAMAG Group. The provisions describe the methods, extent and purpose of the collection and use of data by SAMAG Saalfelder Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH, Hüttenstr. 21, 07318 Saalfeld, Germany as a company that is sensitive to the responsibility to follow data protection laws.

Collection of access data

We collect data about each access to our website. This includes the date, time, browser type, quantity and type of the retrieved data as well as the IP address of the user. We use this data – in accordance with legal provisions – solely for statistical evaluations for the purpose of the operation, security and the optimization of our online proposal, without correlation to the person of the user. However, we reserve the right to subsequently review the data if there is a reasonable suspicion of unlawful use on the basis of concrete indications.

Collection and use of personal data

Personal data is data containing information about the personal or material circumstances of the respective user. This includes the name, e-mail address, address, gender, date of birth or also the age of the respective user. We only collect and use personal data when it is permitted by law or the user has agreed to collection of the data. In general, the user will be able to recognize which data is being stored, e.g. name, e-mail address and message in the event of use of the contact form to respond to questions, for personalization of an offer or for notification about new or changed services. This data will be treated confidentially, transferred in encrypted form and will not be forwarded to third parties who are not involved in the ordering, delivery or payment processes. When you contact us by e-mail or form, your user information will be stored for the purpose of processing the inquiry as well as in case there are further questions. We have taken organizational, contractual and technical security measures in order to ensure that the regulations of data protection laws are complied with and to prevent random or intentional manipulation, loss, destruction or access by unauthorized persons.

Forwarding data to third parties

We never forward, sell or exchange the data of the user to third parties outside of the SAMAG Group for commercial purposes. We only forward data to third parties if this serves the performance of contractual obligations toward the user, is permitted by law or the user has agreed to the forwarding of the data.

Use of cookies

Within the scope of our online proposal we used so-called cookies. Cookies are small text files that are stored on the computer or the mobile device of the user and retrieved in later accesses. We use cookies to improve and simplify the use of our online proposal, however we do not use them to store personal information or share it with third parties. There are two kinds of cookies: temporary cookies are deleted when the browser is closed, permanent cookies are preserved for a predefined time period and can make the stored information available when a website is visited again. However, the user can have an influence on the use of cookies, because most browsers have an option that can be used to restrict or completely prevent the storing of cookies. Users can find out how to use cookies and how to delete them in the Help menu of the browser. We strive to design our website in such a way that the use of cookies is not necessary. However, we should point out that use and user convenience will be restricted without cookies.

Use of cookies by third party providers (Google Analytics & Google Remarketing)

Within the scope of our online proposal we also use cookies from third party providers (Google), in order to collect data in summarized form with analysis tools like Google Analytics and Google Remarketing – services of Google Inc., 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. In the process both permanent and temporary cookies are used, which are stored on the computer of the user and facilitate an analysis of how the user makes use of our website. As a rule, the information generated by this analysis is transferred to a Google server and stored there. In the case of the activation of IP anonymization, however, the IP address of the user is truncated first by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address transferred to a Google server. IP anonymization is active on our website. Google will only process this information in accordance with our instructions. The IP address transmitted from the browser of the user within the scope of Google Analytics and Google Remarketing will not be merged with other data of Google. The user can prevent the storage of cookies by making the appropriate setting in the browser. However, we should point out that in this case not all functions of our online proposal will be able to use to the full extent. In addition, the user can prevent the acquisition of data generated by the cookies and related to the use of our website including the IP address at Google as well as preventing Google from processing the data, by downloading and installing the plugin for the browser that is available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
